How to introduce kitten / cat to dog

TEN TIPS
1) Make sure the dog is calm and safe for a cat
2) Allow the kitten to first view the dog at a safe distance were they can sniff
3) Have kitten initially on a higher platform then the dog
4) Reassure kitten, you are the link to insuring what is safe for him/her
5) Sight/scent initial calm contact through a screen, window or kennel
6) Let kitten approach in his own time - natural instincts will lead them
7) Initially restrain dog with leash, muzzle if he may snap until they are calm
8) Only reward a calm quiet environment; one or two people is best
9) As trust builds and the more they ignore each other you can remove leash
10) Keep energy and noise levels low, no surprises - eventually they will be best buds!
Our 3 Jack Russell Terriers and Kitten took about a week to calm down :)
