This is on of our creative thinking exercises in which the team will categorise random objects. Because they do it multiple times in different groups each time they have to come up with a different category. The team learns how to be creative and enjoy the ideas their team mates came up with.
During the exercise you can apply variations:
1.
When you have small groups just dived them into the amount of groups you prefere and after the first round just shuffle the groups so new combinations and ideas will be made.
2.
You can do a bonus round in which each participant will categorie the objects regarding the most original category. Each participant shows his paper and the rest of the group gives points on a scale from 1 to 10. You calculate the average score for each person and the person with the highest score wins.
3.
You can make it the team more difficult by tell them they have to categories the objects into a certain amount of subcategories. For example: divide the objects into groups of three.
