Hip Extension with the MostFit Resistance Loop

I can't lie, I'm all about the butt! Unfortunately, I see far too many patients and athletes who have no idea how to use it. The problem is that society as a whole spends way too much time sitting on it, and not enough time using it. A good test to see if you know how to actively recruit your glutes is to try to squeeze your cheeks together. You should be able to do this easily in sitting, standing, or lying down, and you shouldn't notice that you also have to activate every other muscle in your legs (or whole body for that matter) to get them to fire. Once you are sure that you can get these muscles to fire, you are ready to perform the hip extension with the MostFit Resistance Loop.
This exercise without the loop will activate your gluteus maximus and a little bit of your hamstrings. Throw the loop on above your knees and resist the adduction force, and you will also target your hip abductors, especially the oh so important gluteus medius. This exercise can be modified into a single leg hip extension with hip abduction to increase the load on gluteus maximus, as well as your core, which has to work to prevent the pelvis from rotating.
